The Inspiration & A Lesson in Grocery Shopping

As a foodie and cook, I understand the struggles of meal planning and grocery shopping all too well. It can be a real headache trying to find the right ingredients and don't even get me started on the dreaded grocery list. For the longest time, I was not a fan but then, one day, my family had a Costco shopping run that changed my perspective forever.

My mom had written up a list for my dad, brother, and me, detailing all the items we needed to grab. But as soon as we got to the store, each of us had our own cart, but none of us had my mom's list. Long story short, we ended up spending an absurd amount of money on what should have been a simple shopping trip. When we got home, we quickly realized our mistake and tried to hide the evidence. But, as always, mom found out and revoked our Costco membership on the spot. Even the Kijiji community (the Kenyans that lived in our area) were warned not to share their Costco cards.

It was a ridiculous situation, but it taught us a valuable lesson: always stick to the list! And if you mess up, distract the person in charge and hide the evidence quickly. With this in mind, I decided to create a meal kit service that would solve these problems once and for all.
